The Shop  of Inspirational Gifts & Magical Items.

As we approach the mid point of the year, the Summer Solstice, the marking of the longest day and shortest night, a magical time of celebration and festivals honoured in the ancient calendar of this land, I thought what better time to introduce my self and my shop Enchanted.

My name is Michelle Axe and I have only lived in this beautiful part of England for a few years, having grown up and lived the majority of my life in South Gloucestershire on the Somerset boarder.  Enchanted has been inspirational for me because it has enabled me to naturally encompasses my life long journey as a Druid and all that that holds, as well as enabling me to combine my love of Arts and Crafts.

It has been amazing, having moved to this area to find out about the rich Druidic history of the Charnwood villages, The Ancient order of Druids from 1781 and the United Ancient Order of Druids from 1833. My research has shown that most villages had their own lodges or groves and these continued in some places up until the 1960s. Of course Charnwood Grove of Druids, to which I am a member, is now one of the largest in the country. Mark Graham the head of the Grove, which I understand, traditionally, meant a place of learning, is also the head of the District Council of Faiths for Loughborough.

Enchanted is situated in the Village of Rothley, opposite the War Memorial and offers something for everyone, including beautiful, unique and individual items hand crafted by local people from Charnwood itself. Wherever possible I have chosen not to bring mass produced goods into the shop, instead choosing to provide a forum for local Artists to display and sell their wares, thus giving you the customer, the choice of interesting and one off items which can not be bought anywhere else. We are currently showing and selling items by:

Jamie Blackwater: Jamie is a Local and International Artist with oil on canvas paintings that are are inspired by nature and the indigenous spirituality of Britain.

Helen Burrows: Silver Smith, Helens jewellery is painstakingly made with some pieces that are incredibly delicate, resulting in must buy items like rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

Sue Barry: Sue has had many exhibitions of her amazing felt pots, wall hangings and scarves. Beautifully made and inspired by the world around her.

I make all of the ointments, therapeutic oils, creams, perfume oils, bath bombs and body scrubs. All of the ingredients in the Gorgeous Goddess range are natural, hand blended and some are even grown in my own garden. I also sculpt and have included my current collection of Primal Goddesses, and I also make the majority of Essential oil candles that are on sale in Enchanted.

Enchanted also has its very own Cobweb Designer Clothes and Soft Furnishings label. Luxurious materials, silks, muslins and velvets that have, in some cases,  been hand dyed and then turned into hand made throws, cushions and clothes providing once again unique, beautiful and individual gifts for friends and family or treats for you and your home.

We have gorgeous crystals, and other healing and magical tools, cards, books, fairies and so much more. We also offer Tarot and Rune readings, this service, however, is by appointment only, but just pop in to the shop or ring to inquire about a suitable time and/or bookings. We also run monthly workshops, weekend courses & camps, information for which can be obtained by calling into the shop, by e-mail or by giving us a call by phone.

Much is misunderstood about Druidry and paganism as a whole. It is my hope that Enchanted provides a bridge within the community that can cater to the tastes and needs of all.
